Abstract

|
This thesis is an attempt to study the dental health deed and dental health consciousness of the pupils of some middle schools in J-rshi. This research was conducted with 480 pupils by questionnaire on the 28th of May, 1985.
The results of this research were as follows:
1 . 50.4 % of the pupils brushed their teeth twice a day, the toothbrushing frequency of girls was higher than that of boys.
2. 61.6 % of them brushed their teeth after breakfast, 65.2 % of them brushed their teeth for one or more minutes and there was little difference in tooth brushing time between boys and girls.
3. Girls recognized the importance of decidure tooth and permanent tooth better than boys did. The rate on the recognition of the importance of deciduce tooth was 74.2 % and on that of permanent tooth was 56.6 % in girls. There was little difference in the degree of the recognition of the reason for dental caries between boys and girls.
4. In view of the toothbrushing method, 57 % of them used vertical and horizontal method. In view of the toothbrushing surface, 37.3 % of them brushed only the teeth.
5. The deed for tooth care of boys was better than that of girls, and the rate on the deed for tooth care was 67.5 % in boys.
